Content and ad removal requests on Ecosia
At Ecosia, we work with a range of search providers, namely Bing and Google to deliver search results and ads to our users. Depending on how you use Ecosia, you may be able to select your preferred search provider within your Ecosia settings. Otherwise, Microsoft Bing’s results are shown by default. As a result, we are not able to remove content or ads ourselves, only our search partners can.
This article explains step by step how to report inappropriate content, advertisements or submit a request for personal information to be removed by our search partners. Please note that Ecosia does not control the content on websites themselves. To make sure content is removed from search results, your best option is to contact the webmaster for the website that published it and request that it be deleted or removed. A website's contact info is often located on the website itself.
