  1. Proper website listing is a free process that helps ensure that your website will appear in the search results when keywords are entered by users in your target markets.

As Ecosia doesn’t have its own search results, the procedures for listing optimization and advertising must be carried out through our search partners directly, namely Microsoft Bing and Google. Ecosia users, pending some system restrictions, are able to choose between which search provider they would like to receive results from, directly in their search settings.

Getting listed with our search partners

A free way to ensure that your website is visible to potential clients is to build it according to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) guidelines. After your page is set up and properly referenced, it can take up to a week before it appears on Ecosia.

While each search provider has its own recommendations on how to best ensure your webpage appears in their results, you will find substantial overlap between them.

Getting listed with Google

Getting listed with Microsoft

For SEO guidelines on Microsoft Bing, please consult their extensive documentation. 

Through the Bing Webmaster tool, you can submit a request for help to get your website listed. 

Improving your SEO on Microsoft Bing will automatically improve your SEO for any Ecosia users that are seeing Microsoft Bing results. 

Advertising with our search partners

It’s unfortunately not currently possible to advertise directly on Ecosia. All requests must go through our search provider partners directly. 

To ensure your ads appear on Ecosia, you must have active ad campaigns with our search providers. While it isn’t currently possible to target Ecosia users directly with those campaigns, your ads will be shown on Ecosia just the same as if you were to search on Google or on Bing.
