How to manage, import and export passwords
Ecosia offers password management features across our apps and browsers. Here's how you can manage your passwords:

Password Management on Ecosia Desktop Browser
When setting up the Ecosia Desktop Browser, you can import passwords from other browsers. For detailed instructions, check out the Setting up the Ecosia Browser Guide.
After setup, you can also import or export passwords at any time in your browser settings
- Open the Ecosia Desktop Browser.
- Go to Settings > You and Ecosia Browser.
- Choose to import or export passwords and follow the prompts.
Password Management on Ecosia iOS App
The Ecosia iOS app supports third-party password managers installed on your device. You can also import and export passwords directly within the app. This ensures seamless access to your login information across apps and services.
How to Import and Export Passwords
- Open the Ecosia app on your iOS device.
- Navigate to Settings > Password Management.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to import or export passwords.
Password Management on Ecosia Android App
The Ecosia Android app has a built-in password manager. However, it currently does not support integration with third-party password managers such as 1Password or LastPass. We are actively working on adding this feature.
Note: You can export passwords, but importing is not yet supported.
How to Export Passwords
- Open the Ecosia app on your Android device.
- Go to Settings > Password Management.
- Select the option to export your passwords and follow the steps provided.
Password Management on other Browsers
If you're using Ecosia as an extension or default search engine in browsers like Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox, password management will rely on the respective browser's functionality.
