Importing and exporting bookmarks on mobile

You can easily bring bookmarks from a different browser app to the Ecosia mobile app, with our bookmark import functionality. 

You can also export your bookmarks from Ecosia, if you want to copy them to another browser.

Importing bookmarks

  1. First, from the other browser you are using, export the bookmarks to an html file. On the Ecosia iOS app go to Menu > Bookmarks > More > Import bookmarks 
  2. Select the html file of your bookmarks that you want to import

Exporting bookmarks

  1. On the Ecosia app go to Menu > Bookmarks
  2. Select More > Export bookmarks
  3. Select a location where to store the bookmarks file

This functionality can be used as a backup or for importing to a new mobile device.

  1. First, from the other browser you are using, export the bookmarks you wish to a html file. On the Ecosia Android app go to Menu > Bookmarks > Context Menu (three dots) > Import
  2. Select the html file of the bookmarks you want to import

Exporting bookmarks

  1. On the Ecosia app go to Menu > Bookmarks
  2. Select Context Menu (3 dots) > Export
  3. Select a location where to store the bookmarks file

Known issues for export

Exporting to Google Drive or another cloud location is currently not supported on some devices. Please export your bookmarks to a local folder like “Downloads” first. Afterwards you can move them to another location.
