How to invite friends to use Ecosia?

This feature is on the Ecosia mobile app for all iOS and Android devices.

Inviting your friends to Ecosia

It's simple to invite friends to Ecosia. Just follow these three steps:

  1. Open your Ecosia app (ensure that you have the latest app version).
  2. Tap the invite friends option.
  3. Share the invite message via email or your preferred messaging app. You can customize the message, but please refrain from altering the installation links.

If you receive an invite

If you receive an invite from a friend, here's what you should do:

  1. Open the installation link sent by your friend or search for Ecosia on the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Install Ecosia on your mobile device.
  3. On iPhone or iPad, after installation, open the second link in your friend’s invite to confirm you’ve accepted their invitation.

Issues with friend invites


If you have sent invitations to your friends but don’t see any invitation as accepted under “Your invites” there could be a few reasons:

  1. Your friend has yet to install the Ecosia application.
  2. Your friend has installed Ecosia on iOS but has not used the second invitation link.
  3. Ensure that your friend uses the provided link in the invitation message to accept your invitation after installing Ecosia.
