Get the Ecosia app on Android

  1. Find Ecosia in the Google Play Store
  2. Select install to download the Ecosia app

Set Ecosia as your default browser on Android

On Android you can make Ecosia your default browser. Doing this will mean that any links you open on your device will open in the Ecosia app. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Ecosia app
  2. Open the menu within the app and tap on 🌳 Set Ecosia as Default Browser
  3. Select Ecosia by confirming Select as default

Get the Ecosia app on iOS

  1. Find Ecosia in the App Store
  2. Select install to download the Ecosia iOS app

Set Ecosia as your default browser on iOS

On iOS you can go into your phone’s settings and set Ecosia as your default browser. Doing this will mean that any links you select on your device will open in Ecosia. Follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of the Ecosia iOS App
  2. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  3. Tap on Ecosia
  4. Tap on Default Browser App and select Ecosia

You need iOS14 or newer on your device to be able to choose Ecosia as your default browser!


Set Ecosia as your default in Safari (iOS)

When using the Safari mobile browser you can select Ecosia as your default:

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap on Safari
  3. Tap on Search Engine
  4. Select Ecosia

Set Ecosia as your default browser on Brave (Android)

When using the Brave mobile browser you can select Ecosia as your default:

  1. Open Settings and go to General 
  2. Click search engines
  3. Click on standard tab and select Ecosia
  4. Repeat for private tab
